Welcome to ShowUp.wtf. By using our platform, you agree to these Terms of Use.

1. Overview

ShowUp.wtf allows individuals (“Creators”) to send commitment links (“CommitLinks”) to others (“Participants”) to confirm attendance at a future event, date, or meeting. If the Participant agrees, we place a temporary authorization (hold) on their payment method, which may be charged in case of a no-show.

2. CommitLink Authorization

  • You authorize a temporary hold for the amount displayed.
  • This hold is not charged immediately. If you confirm your attendance (e.g., by scanning a QR code or visiting a confirmation link), the hold is released.
  • If you do not confirm your attendance within the required time window, the Creator may request that the hold be captured and converted into a payment.
  • All captures must occur within 7 days due to Stripe's hold limitations.

3. No-Show Policy

If you fail to attend the agreed-upon meeting and do not confirm your attendance (e.g., by visiting a ShowUp confirmation page or scanning a QR code), the Creator may request that the hold be captured and converted into a payment.

Confirmation must occur before or within 6 hours after the scheduled event time.

You waive any right to dispute this charge if:

  • you agreed to the terms by checking the box,
  • and did not show up or confirm your attendance as required.

The final decision to capture a held payment rests with ShowUp.wtf, based on internal verification processes including QR scans, confirmations, or communication logs. We reserve the right to deny capture requests if abuse or fraud is suspected.

4. Privacy

We collect limited personal information such as name, email address, and payment method (via Stripe) in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for disputes between Creators and Participants, nor for the outcome of any personal meeting. All use is at your own risk.

6. Misuse & Abuse

We reserve the right to suspend or ban accounts that misuse the platform, including but not limited to false no-show claims, harassment, spam links, or attempts to defraud Participants or Creators.

7. Refunds

Captured payments are final unless refunded voluntarily by the Creator. ShowUp.wtf does not issue refunds for captured deposits unless a technical error occurred.

8. Age Requirement

You must be at least 18 years old to use this platform.

9. Third-Party Terms

All payment processing is handled by Stripe and subject to Stripe’s Terms of Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Delaware.

11. Modifications

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
